A CNC lathe is one of the most popular and in-demand lathes. That's because a CNC lathe uses computer-controlled movements (CNC stands for 'computer numerical control'), which allows you to deliver high volumes with consistent quality.

How does a CNC lathe with C-axis work?

A CNC lathe with a C-axis contains a positionable axis in which the chuck (where you clamp the metal) can be used as an axis. One of the things you can do with a CNC lathe with C-axis is milling a keyway in a round product. You just choose a certain position and then you process the product with a powered holder from your revolver.

The advantage of having a CNC lathe with C-axis is that this axis can be positioned from 0 to 360,000 degrees. This allows you to perform the operations in one fixture, which saves you span time.

Used C-axis CNC lathes are popular

As mentioned, CNC lathes are very popular. It's no surprise there are many second-hand lathes to be found. This is no different for used CNC lathes with C-axis. You don't need to pay the top price for these machines, but you are still assured of great quality.
